Lau Wai ( "Liu Hui" in Mandarin),Emily was born in China in 1979 and moved to Hong Kong in 1986. She studied art education at the Hong Kong Institute of Education and worked as an art teacher after obtaining the certificate of education in 2002. In 2007, she graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, major in oil painting and minor in printmaking. Her works are mainly mixed media painting and prints.

劉 卉1979年生於中國，1986年移居香港。2002年畢業於香港教育學院藝術系教育證書課程，後任職美術科教師。2007年她於廣州美術學院取得文學(藝術)學士學位，主修油畫，副修版畫，其創作多為綜合媒介繪畫及版畫。
